What is the mission of The IREDE Foundation?

The IREDE Foundation inspires ACTION so that Child Amputees and their families can live independent and limitless lives.

What does The IREDE Foundation do?

The IREDE Foundation is actively involved with 6 initiatives that wholistically define our programs and operations. This includes:

  • Limb Empowerment through which we provide custom-made prosthetic limbs to child amputees at no cost to them.
  • Disability Advocacy, where we work to influence behavioral change through educating the general public about Limb loss, disability issues, and push for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all facets of society.
  • Out On A Limb, Our Global Disability Advocacy Walk held annually to bring public awareness to disability issues and educate the public on limb loss and limb management.
  • School Based Advocacy programs where we educate children on disability issues through our Inclusive Comic Book known as ‘IREDIANS’ which features children with disabilities as superheroes.
  • Psycho-Social Support provided to Child Amputees and their families to help them through the challenges they face in respect to limb loss.
  • Educational Support provided to child amputees, giving them equal access to quality education.
  • Who is eligible to receive prosthetic limbs from The IREDE Foundation?

    Child Amputees between the ages of 0-18 years are eligible for prosthetic limbs.

    What is the cost associated with receiving a prosthetic limb?

    We provide the prosthetic limbs to the Child Amputees at Zero Cost. We are also responsible for the maintenance and replacement of these limbs till the child is 18 years.

    How many Limbs has The IREDE Foundation given so far?

    The IREDE Foundation has provided up to 500+ prosthetic limbs to child amputees across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

    Where is The IREDE Foundation physically located?

    We are physically located at No. 15 Ramat Crescent, Ogudu, Lagos State, Nigeria..
    However, our project geography cuts across all the states in Nigeria. Irrespective of the state you are in, we are able to provide you with the required limb support.

    What is ‘Out On A Limb’?

    Out on A Limb is a 2-kilometer global advocacy walk organized by the IREDE Foundation every year to raise awareness about Children and Persons living with Disabilities in Society.
